WELCOME TO GYPSUM
Gypsum CO is just west of Eagle and is located at the western end of the Eagle River Valley. It has a warmer climate, earlier Spring, and longer Summer, compared to Valley neighborhoods. Gypsum was a ranching community, but with recent developments, the town has become an attractive area for second homeowners and residents.
The Gypsum Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course designed by Pete Dye. The public golf course has early-season golf, often allowing skiers to ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon. With more than 96 acres of open space available for year-round outdoor activities, Gypsum features 18 neighborhood parks, fly fishing along the Eagle River, and attractive new homes set among historic ranchlands. There are several parks, ball fields, a full recreation and fitness center, pickleball courts, and shopping at Costco. A Tesla dealership is being built near the Eagle County Regional Airport. There are new storage buildings available for purchase or rent to store extra toys, cars, home, and business overflow.
A new residential neighborhood is being developed, Siena Lake, which is anchored by a seven-acre swimming lake, with mountain modern single-family and duplex smaller homes near trails, parks, and community gardens.
The Buckhorn Valley neighborhood in Gypsum offers single-family, duplex, and condominiums at prices more affordable than up Valley.
The Eagle River runs through Gypsum on its way to merge with the Colorado River downstream at Dotsero. There is great fly fishing at the
Gypsum Ponds, campground areas to the west, and the
Flattops Wilderness Area to the northwest of Gypsum, a fabulous recreational area for snowmobiling, hiking, and horseback riding in the backcountry.
