The Town of Minturn, 5 miles west of Vail, is surrounded on three sides by the Holy Cross Wilderness area and National Forest. The upper Eagle River runs through the Town providing a variety of scenic outdoor recreation activities for fishing, rafting, kayaking, and canoeing.

 

Minturn maintains the Old West Town character. It was settled in the late 1800s by homesteaders who farmed the land and by silver miners in 1887 when it became a booming crossroads for transportation and industry.

Little Beach Park along the Eagle River is a place to gather for live entertainment, picnics, and movies. Miles of hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country ski trails are just a few of the year-round recreation activities.
